However, in smaller cities and rural areas, the scenario is starkly different. Here, the close-knit nature of communities often leads to compromises in law enforcement. People know each other, and sometimes, traffic police are influenced by personal relationships or local pressures, allowing offenders to escape penalties.
This leniency fosters a culture of impunity, where traffic rules are routinely ignored, and dangerous behaviours become normalized.
The consequences of this negligence are devastating. Every year, countless lives are lost or irrevocably altered due to preventable road accidents.
Families are torn apart, losing loved ones who are often the primary breadwinners.
The sudden loss of a family member plunges households into financial and emotional crises, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation by opportunistic individuals who take advantage of their plight.
